Troopers said the man enters the Giant Eagle in Latrobe, loads up his shopping car with choice cut meats, then leaves without paying.
"He goes to where the expensive meats are kept, looks through all the expensive meat, grabs almost $1,000 worth of choice cut meats, (and) pushes them right out of the store," said Pennsylvania State Police Trooper Stephen Limani, of the Greensburg barracks.
Police said the thief parked his truck in the fire lane out front of the store, loaded it up and took off. He's gone to the same store on three different occasions and was successful twice. Both times, he was he was in the same pickup truck and wearing the same clothes.
"Whether they're selling it somewhere, selling it to a restaurant, taking it or freezing it, it seems ... they're taking it to get money and get paid. Subsequently, people committing thefts like this are going to use that money to buy drugs," Limani said.
Anyone with information is asked to call police.
