PITTSBURGH — More than two dozen people came to the Port Authority Board meeting Friday to speak out against a new policy to enforce fare collections on the T.
The public transit agency recently approved a policy that would put armed police officers on T platforms to make sure they paid the required fare.

Speakers raised concerns of racial profiling and cost, since an unpaid fare could lead to a $300 fine or up to 30 days of jail.
