CoreLife Eatery doesn’t officially open its McKnight Road location until Friday. However, on Thursday it will hold a special “Pay What You Want” day with all of the proceeds going to the North Side-based Light of Life Rescue Mission.

The chain is only about two years old but already has more than a dozen locations across the U.S., with more close to opening. The company expects to have 300 locations nationwide by 2022.
The Thursday event, held from 11:30 a.m. to 7:30 p.m., allows customers to pay whatever they like for their meals.
