ROSS TOWNSHIP, Pa. — A road in Ross Township was closed for several hours after a car hit a telephone pole and ended up in a ditch Saturday morning.
Peoples Road was closed near Nelson Run Road after the crash around 10 a.m.

Officials on scene told Channel 11 the vehicle ended up on the side of the road in the grass -- with the broken pole on top of it. The transformer sat in the middle of the road along with downed wires.
Police said the driver was traveling up the hill when he crashed. It appeared he made it out safely. Channel 11 crews noticed his arm was wrapped up at the scene.
Peoples Road is still being worked on by utility crews. It’s unclear if that driver will be facing charges.
