ALLEGHENY CO., Pa. — The COVID-19 pandemic has created unprecedented need everywhere, including in Dormont and Mt. Lebanon.
But because of joint effort between those neighboring communities, that need is being met with just a phone call.

It’s called Neighborhood Aid, a service set up to help residents during the COVID-19 crisis. And since it launched six weeks ago, they’ve received approximately 200 calls.
“Honestly there’s been a lot of tears. The calls are often heartbreaking – seniors who are afraid to leave their home or families who can’t get to the food pantry,” said Dormont councilmember Joanna Bouldin.
Volunteers are available to run errands and pick up critical supplies.
Residents who need help can call the Neighborhood Aid hotline (412-253-4104) and talk to a live person. Or you can visit their website.
