Penn-Trafford's teachers' union could call for a strike by the end of the week, its president told Channel 11's news exchange partners at TribLIVE.

Dispute over a tentative contract could have teachers striking "sooner rather than later," Shaun Rinier, president of the teachers' union, told TribLIVE.

Teachers were set to vote Thursday on the tentative agreement, but that vote has been cancelled, TribLIVE reported. The primary issues for teachers are salary increases and benefits.

There are 3,800 students in the Penn-Trafford School District.
