Texas man faces federal charge for threatening Steelers, fans

A Texas man accused of threatening to murder Pittsburgh Steelers players and fans allegedly used the screen name "Kill Roethlisberger."

Yuttana Choochongkol, also known as Jason Manotham, 40, of San Antonio, was arrested two days before the Pittsburgh-Jacksonville game after allegedly sending three separate threats to a media outlet and Heinz Field’s website, according to the U.S. Department of Justice.

The first threat to Heinz Field came from "Anonymous" and read: "Be prepared for a massacre. I'm going to try and kill as many Steelers football players and fans as possible before taking my own, worthless life."

The next morning, a message from "Kill Roethlisberger" read: "I'll be packing an Uzi with clips underneath my winter gear. My target will be the whole Steelers sideline."

The FBI traced the emails to a clinical trial company in San Antonio the same day.

Investigators said surveillance video showed a test subject at the site using the computers.

He claimed he only looked at a few sites, such as eBay, but federal investigators said he was acting evasive, and days later, he was charged with making the threats.

A federal judge approved a government request to keep him in jail, without bond, leading up to the trial.

He faces one charge of transmitting interstate threatening communications.
