BUTLER, Pa. — Police said they pulled over someone in Butler County for a broken taillight, but their search of that car probably prevented a lot of deaths.
Pennsylvania State Police showed only Channel 11 the drugs one of their lieutenants took off the street during a traffic stop in Butler.
Troopers confiscated 300 stamp bags of suspected heroin and a loaded handgun from the car Darnell Glenn of Pittsburgh was driving.

Channel 11 did a little digging and found out Pittsburgh Police charged him back in 2005 with attempted homicide and aggravated assault.
Investigators said his passenger, Amanda Cypher, was wanted too, for allegedly stealing a car a few nights earlier. According to police, they found almost 50 empty stamp bags in her purse.
Troopers are thankful a small violation like a broken taillight led to all the drugs being taken off the streets.

“The opium epidemic is real, and arrests like this are becoming more commonplace,” said Trooper Jim Long with Pennsylvania State Police.
Both suspects are still behind bars.
