Two weeks before election, Westmoreland Co. discovers issue with mail-in ballots

GREENSBURG — Less than two weeks before the election, Westmoreland Co. is alerting voters who use absentee and mail-in ballots, some ballots might be incorrect.

According to the county, it was discovered that the race for Magisterial District Judge 10-2-08 had been inadvertedly omitted from 178 mail-in ballots and 13 absentee ballots issued for four precincts in Mt. Pleasant Township.

The precincts include Ridgeview, Mammoth, United and Westmoreland Homestead.

The county tells Channel 11, they took immediate action and began to identify voters who would be impacted.

These four precincts had previously been part of Magisterial District 10-3-11, which had been reconfigured effective January 8, 2021.

New ballots should arrive at their homes in the coming week.
