PITTSBURGH — UPMC Presbyterian in Oakland has temporarily closed one unit after several employees were potentially exposed to COVID-19 outside the hospital.
The hospital confirmed to Channel 11 that no patients were exposed and that all potentially exposed employees are quarantining at home.
“UPMC Presbyterian has temporarily closed one unit after several employees were potentially exposed to COVID-19 outside the hospital. Patients on the unit were not exposed and have been moved to other units in the hospital. All potentially exposed employees are quarantining at home. The closure does not impact hospital functions. UPMC hospitals are safe and ready to provide care for the communities we serve.”
