WEST MIFFLIN, Pa. — What was once among the largest shopping malls in the world is now a crumbling eyesore and a video taken from the inside of Century III Mall shows what it now looks like.
The video, posted to Facebook by urban exploration influencer Steve Ronin, shows puddles of water on the floor, piles of ceiling tiles, empty storefronts and dead potted plants.
Ronin visited the former mall and posted the video to his account on Sept. 14. As of Wednesday, it had over a million views.
The mall was ordered to close in 2019 after it was found to be “unsafe and uninhabitable.” The last store, JCPenney, shut down about a year ago.
