The Sky Rocket was already known for launching from zero to 50 miles per hour in three seconds. Now riders can get an even wilder experience, with added virtual reality.
Channel 11 producer Lauren Silver tried it out, first on solid ground. Then she hit the tracks.
The headset creates a lifelike world where you're racing, and the visuals are programmed to match the sensations of the coaster.
To start, there will only be four headsets in use per train, and those who want to try it will have to pay a fee to upgrade.
Kennywood said they plan to make the experience available sometime in May. The park is open to the public on weekends starting May 6, with daily operations starting May 25.
