West coast man canoeing across country stops in Pittsburgh

PITTSBURGH — Just keep paddling and you might find yourself traveling 7,500 miles from coast to coast, like Neal Moore.

According to our partners at TribLive.com, Moore, from Oregon, will cross 22 bodies of water on that trip, including the Ohio and Allegheny rivers. He arrived in Pittsburgh on Wednesday and planned to spend a few days before hitting the water again.

Moore said he wanted to explore the waterways to connect with people across the country. He said Pittsburgh’s rivers appear to be much cleaner than they used to be.

The plan is to dock in New York by mid-December.
