West Penn Power warns about scammers targeting customers

PITTSBURGH — West Penn Power issued a warning about a scam targeting its customers.

Scammers pretending to be workers with West Penn Power are calling customers and threatening to shut off their service unless they make a payment using prepaid debit cars or money transfers.

The company said, although representatives may call to remind you about making a payment, they would never demand payment using those methods.
