A 72-year-old woman was shot in the face Tuesday night when someone opened fire on a group of people in Sheraden.
Police said the gunman pulled up near a group of people on Faulkner Street and started shooting. The woman was wounded when one of the bullets went through the windshield of a van.

Emergency responders found the woman with a gunshot wound near her mouth. She was conscious and breathing as she was taken to Allegheny General Hospital.
One neighbor said she initially thought the gunshots were children playing with fireworks.
"I looked outside and saw this guy running this way, very fast, so I knew it was something more than that," Esther Albright said.
Police had not released any information about a possible shooter as of Wednesday afternoon. Police say they are stepping up patrols in the area.
