Man arrested for shooting at South Park shelter

SOUTH PARK, Pa. — A man was arrested in connection with shooting a woman Sunday night in South Park.

Police said the shooting happened around 8:30 p.m. at Diana Grove, one of several shelter areas across the park that can be rented for private use.

First responders found a 22-year-old woman with a gunshot wound in her arm. She was taken to the hospital where she was treated and released.

According to police, the victim was attending a party with her son and her boyfriend, 23-year-old Oshai Young, at Diana Grove which was legally rented, police said.

At the end of the party Young pulled a gun during an argument with the victim and fired several shots, one of them hitting her.

Young, who was still on scene when officers arrived, was taken into custody.
