ZELIENOPLE, Pa. — Zelienople has come up with an out-of-the-box way to help residents and businesses all at the same time.
The borough has come up with its very own coronavirus stimulus package. Giving every resident a $50 e-gift card to spend on utilities or on the downtown shops.
Leaders say they used leftover federal stimulus money to do this for its community. They said this has never been down before.
“We could of used it for something else, but our people and our businesses needed it,” said Zelienople councilman Drew Mathew.
More than 40 businesses are participating, and the e-cards are good until May 2021.
