BULLSKIN TOWNSHIP, Pa. — A tractor-trailer lost its brakes Tuesday morning as it traveled downhill on a section of Route 31 known as Three Mile Hill in Bullskin Township, Fayette County.

Police said the truck reached a speed of 80 mph as it struck an SUV. The impact pushed the SUV into the woods. The female driver was forced to escape from the vehicle through its sunroof and was taken to a hospital.

The tractor-trailer brought down three high-tension power lines, which trapped the driver inside until power crews arrived. She was taken to a hospital while her dog, who had been traveling with her, was taken to a veterinarian.

Details about the conditions of both drivers and the dog were not immediately available.

The truck was carrying condiments, which spilled all over the road.
