Florida man tries to rob 3 banks in 3 hours, then surrenders to police

A South Florida man robbed or attempted to rob three banks during a three-hour span Friday, then surrendered to police early the next day, authorities said.

Sandy Lamar Graham, 40, of Hollywood, was arrested on three counts of bank robbery, according to the Broward County Sheriff's Office.

Graham then went to a Bank of America branch in Hollywood and demanded cash from an employee, the newspaper reported. Photographs released by the Hollywood Police Department show a man who appears to be Graham at a teller's window.

According to deputies, Graham walked into a Chase bank in Hollywood at 2:36 p.m. and demanded money from a teller, implying he had a weapon, the Sun-Sentinel reported.

At 5:30 p.m., Graham allegedly attempted to rob a SunTrust bank in Plantation, according to the Sun-Sentinel.

FBI investigators released photographs from surveillance cameras, and Graham surrendered to the Hollywood Police Department, the Sun-Sentinel reported.

Police have not said how much money Graham took from the banks, according to the newspaper.

Graham is expected to make an appearance in a federal court Monday, according to arrest records.
