CHARLOTTE HALL, Md. — A Charlotte Hall, Maryland, dollar store was ransacked of its Christmas decorations by a random shopper, but the shopper probably didn't enter the store on purpose.

WJLA reported that a beaver was photographed by police in an aisle of the store.

"Cpl. Yingling had a unique call for service when the suspect, pictured, was witnessed causing property destruction," a tweet from St. Mary's County Sheriff's Office said Wednesday.

Photos show the critter knocking over Christmas cups and digging at boxes of artificial trees.

Despite the beaver's behavior in the store, police said it was able to safely be rescued by local animal control and taken to a wildlife rehabilitator.
