Robbery suspect nicknamed 'Butter' nabbed in Florida

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — A robbery suspect sought by the Federal Bureau of Investigation was caught in Jacksonville, Florida.

Officers spotted the suspect, Dwayne "Butter" Winans, Tuesday night at a Greyhound bus station.

Winans sports an elaborate tattoo and a dollar sign tattoo on his face.

Winans was sought by the FBI and New Orleans Police Department for an Aug. 4 bank robbery at a Fidelity Bank in New Orleans in which he disguised himself as a woman wearing a long wig and bright lipstick. He is also suspected in an armed carjacking on Aug. 12 in New Orleans.

The Jacksonville Sheriff's Office was aware that Winans had a warrant for his arrest out of Louisiana for bank robbery and armed carjacking. He was taken into custody without incident, JSO said.

FBI officials said Winans is a person of interest for a number of robberies throughout the New Orleans Metropolitan area.
