2 rescued from chocolate tank at Mars factory in Pennsylvania

ELIZABETHTOWN, Pa. — Crews rescued two people Thursday after they became trapped in a chocolate tank at an M&M/Mars factory in central Pennsylvania, according to multiple reports.

Officials confirmed a rescue mission was underway as of 2:20 p.m. EDT, WHP-TV reported. Lancaster County dispatchers told PennLive.com that two people fell into a tank at the facility just after 1:50 p.m. First responders had been called to help cut a hole into the tank to free the people trapped, WHTM-TV reported.

Dispatchers told PennLive.com that the tank had some chocolate in it at the time of the incident. The chocolate was believed to be about waist-high, the news site reported.

According to WHP, the two people were rescued by 4:15 p.m. and taken to a hospital. They were not injured, PennLive.com reported.
