Belmont Stakes will be first Triple Crown race on June 20

The Belmont Stakes will be the first Triple Crown race instead of the last race.

This year it will be run June 20 before the Kentucky Derby and the Preakness Stakes, both of which have been moved to the fall, The New York Times reported.

The winner of the race will have a smaller prize, only $1 million being awarded, the Times reported.

The race will also be shorter. It will be a 1 1/8 mile instead of the usual 1 1/2 mile, CNN reported.

No spectators will be present at the races.

The Derby will be held Sept. 5 and the Preakness will be held Oct. 3.
