Firefighters save flag from Lake Fire blaze

LAKE HUGHES, Calif. — As the Lake Fire continues to burn in Angeles National Forest, firefighters were able to save a flag from the blaze.

The video was posted by the Los Angeles County Firefighters Local 1014, KCBS reported.

It shows firefighters lowering a flag as flames inched closer.

Firefighters said the property was destroyed.

“Evan as we battle fast-spreading flames and dangerous conditions, our members continue to serve with respect and honor,” the union wrote.

The Lake Fire started Wednesday and is about 17 square miles as of Thursday night, USA Today reported.

Los Angeles County Fire Department does not have a cause of the wildfire.
