A man in Orange County, California, was arrested and a hotel was evacuated after law enforcement officials found bomb-making materials in his room.

Orange County sheriff’s deputies were called to the Staybridge Suites Irvine East Lake Forest to investigate a possible domestic violence incident, the sheriff’s department told The Orange County Register, when they noticed suspicious materials in a suspect’s room.

The Orange County Sheriff’s Department Bomb Squad entered the suspect’s room and discovered multiple homemade illegal explosive devices, along with illegal explosive substances, according to The Register. As a precaution, law enforcement officials evacuated the three-story hotel.

The bomb squad collected and rendered safe all the materials in the room, and the unidentified man was booked into Orange County Jail on multiple felony charges, the sheriff’s department told KCAL.
