MANCHESTER, Ky. — A Kentucky woman pleaded guilty to the murder of her newborn baby in 2018.
WKYT says Amber Bowling has pleaded guilty to the murder of her newborn baby boy in 2018 during a court appearance Monday.
WLEX says an autopsy report showed that the baby died from blunt-force trauma and had a cranial fracture, fractured ribs and a brain bleed.
Kentucky State Police told WLEX that when Bowling was 21 years old, she gave birth to a baby boy in December 2018. Court records obtained by WLEX say she allegedly placed the baby in a trash bag and threw it off a second-story banister of an apartment complex. The baby’s remains were found by a neighbor.
Bowling will be sentenced on June 27. WKYT says her recommended sentence is 40 years.
