Recall alert: Metal fragments prompt recall of select Market Pantry cookies sold at Target

YORK, Pa. — D. F. Stauffer Biscuit Co. Inc. on Wednesday issued a voluntary recall of select Market Pantry White Fudge Animal Cookies because they may contain metal fragments.

The recall, issued in concert with the U.S. Food and Drug Administration, is limited specifically to the cookies with a “best by” date of Feb. 21, 2023; a Jug Lot No. of Y052722; a Case Lot No. of Y052722; and a Universal Product Code of 085239817698.

According to the company, the recall was initiated when metal wire was found inside a portion of the cookies. No other lots or products are affected by the recall.

The products, which are packaged in a clear, plastic jug formed to a bear shape, were distributed to Target stores nationwide, the recall stated.

Consumers are advised to stop consuming the product and return it to the place of purchase for a full refund. Consumers with questions may contact D. F. Stauffer Biscuit Co. Inc. at 888-480-1988, Monday through Friday, from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. EDT.
