GREENVILLE, S.C. — A South Carolina zoo has welcomed a new member to its family – a baby giraffe.
According to The State and WYFF-TV, the Greenville Zoo announced Sunday afternoon that its 14-year-old Masai giraffe, Autumn, had given birth.
The arrival of the calf – Autumn’s third with partner Miles – was streamed live on YouTube and the zoo’s website via EarthCam, the news outlets reported.
“There’s a baby in the barn!” the zoo wrote in a Facebook post. “Autumn gave birth less than an hour ago.”
Zookeepers have not yet announced the sex of the calf, who has not been named, WYFF reported.
