Two passengers injured on light rail train in downtown Pittsburgh

PITTSBURGH — Two people were injured Friday morning on a light rail train in downtown Pittsburgh, the Port Authority confirmed.

The passengers were riding an inbound Blue Line train between the First Avenue and Steel Plaza stations about 6:45 a.m. when they fell.

Medics were called to the scene and both passengers were taken to UPMC Mercy Hospital to be checked out, the Port Authority said. Their injuries were minor.

No details about what might have caused the passengers to fall were immediately available.
