The water main break occurred early this morning in the city's Port Lands neighborhood.
Video recorded by local media shows the car stuck in the water before falling into the sinkhole.
There did not appear to be any people in the car at the time.
The supervisor who had been driving the vehicle before it submerged was not injured, according to a transit spokesperson.
