Weeks later, mother still looking for son's hit-and-run killer

PITTSBURGH — Police are still looking for the driver in a hit-and-run accident that killed a man in Plum last month.

Brandon Erb, 36, was killed when he was struck as he was walking to the grocery store on Greensburg Road near the Lincoln Beach turn.

“He was funny,” said Beth Park, Erb’s mother. “He was a good friend to his friends.”

Erb was taken off of live support in February, nine days after he was hit by the mirror of a truck.

“His C1, C2 and C3 (vertebrae) were fractured and his skull was separated from his spine. He had no response to any kind of stimulus,” Park said.

Allegheny County police told Channel 11 they are investigating the case as a hit-and-run.

Park believes that someone knows what happened and is withholding information.

“Whether it’s someone who saw their co-worker’s truck, or maybe a garage fixed and replaced a mirror,” Park said.

Park said she will continue to work with county police until her son’s killer is brought to justice.
