The Caps waded through a rain-covered rink, beating the Pens 3-1.
On Sunday, work began on transforming Heinz Field back into a football stadium. And thanks to the Steelers' win against the Browns on Sunday, crews will have an extra week to prepare the field since the team has a first-round bye.
Crews are set to finish the rink disassembly and start re-sodding the field on Tuesday. The Steelers are set to play either the Colts, Chiefs or Ravens in division round of the playoffs on Jan. 15.
