NORTH VERSAILLES, Pa. — A Pittsburgh-area woman accused of punching an EMT in North Versailles is facing aggravated assault charges in connection with the incident that was caught on camera.

According to a criminal complaint obtained by Channel 11 News, Patricia Thompson of Wilkinsburg motioned the ambulance to pull over Saturday on Brinton Road near Lincoln Highway.

Police said Thompson accused the EMT of hitting her car without stopping.

The EMT, who works for Amserv, LTD Dusan Ambulance in Dubois, told police that Thompson pulled her from the ambulance and began punching her.

Video recorded by a witness and posted on

appears to show part of the altercation. Police said the video backs up witnesses’ accounts, which indicated Thompson was the aggressor.

“At no point did the Allegheny County 911 Center or North Versailles police receive a hit-and-run report from Thompson,” authorities told Channel 11 News.

Thompson was not jailed and released without posting bond.

Attempts to reach Thompson to hear her side of the story went unanswered on Monday.

Meanwhile, the executive director of AmServ said the paramedic was not aware of any contact with Thompson’s vehicle and was thankful that no patients were onboard at the time of the incident.

The executive director said the paramedic had some bumps and bruises but was still shaken up.
