LOUISE, Texas — It started out with a “table for one” request but ended up being a heartwarming encounter that has quickly gone viral.
Brooke Ochoa, 30, posted an image on Facebook of herself and an older woman that she had just met when the two ended up at the same restaurant together. The older woman asked for a table for one. Ochoa said she hesitated before approaching the woman, telling her she was also eating by herself and asked if she would like to have lunch with her.

The older woman, named Delores, was thrilled to have company. She opened up to Ochoa, saying that her mother, who she had lived with for the past decade, had recently died, and an aunt had just been moved into a nursing home. The older woman was grateful for the company as she had been having a hard time being alone.
The lunch date was such a hit that Ochoa says she plans to have lunch with Delores every Thursday.
