Woman Pleads Guilty To Tainting Urine Test

NEW DERRY, Pa.,None — Probation officers conducting a routine drug test on a New Derry woman earlier this year were surprised when a pill bottle filled with drug-free urine dropped from her genital area.

Police said the test was being conducted at Michelle Bellish's Pittsburgh Street apartment in February.

The 39-year-old stood in the bathroom trying to provide a urine sample for the officers when the "modified pill bottle" dropped.

Police said Bellish, who was on probation at the time, admitted to the officers that she was attempting to tamper with the sample to avoid a positive result.

On Wednesday, she pleaded guilty to the misdemeanor offense. She was sentenced to serve an additional term of three to 12 months in jail. She was given credit for time served since her arrest in February.

However, Belish will also serve an 11- to 23-month sentence on the original drug charge, also, after her probation was revoked.
