Jeff Capel named finalist for Phelan National Coach of the Year

PITTSBURGH — Jeff Capel’s success at Pitt this season is getting recognized nationally as he’s a finalist for yet another coach of the year award.

Capel has been named as a finalist for the 2022-23 Jim Phelan National Coach of the Year award.

This news comes on the heels of Capel being named ACC Coach of the Year and being named a finalist for the Ben Jobe Award.
