CLAIRTON. Pa.,None — The Clairton Bears defeated the Southern Columbia Tigers 35-19 on Friday in the PIAA Class A State Championship game in Hershey, Pa.
For the third straight season, these Bears left Hersheypark Stadium with a state title, gold medals around their necks and a PIAA trophy for their growing collection. But this time, they also had a 47-game winning streak, longest in WPIAL history. Braddock won 46 straight from 1955-60.
Clairton running back Tyler Boyd finished the game with 224 yards rushing on 14 carries and two touchdowns.
"We got the victory, and we've got an unbeatable record," said Boyd.
