Pittsburgh Steelers head coach Mike McCarthy revealed in his pre-practice interview on Wednesday that the Steelers will start Will Howard and then have Drew Allar play against the New York Jets in the second preseason game on Friday night.
“I saw what I needed to see from Mason (Rudolph) last week,” McCarthy said.
Steelers wide receivers DK Metcalf (undisclosed) and Michael Pittman (right ankle) are still dealing with injuries and are expected to miss Friday night’s game. McCarthy has emphasized the importance of playing groups of players together, so that’s why Aaron Rodgers will not suit up.
