PITTSBURGH — The Pittsburgh Steelers returned to the practice field Wednesday following their trip to Paris, beginning preparations for a division matchup against the Cleveland Browns.

Both teams enter Sunday’s game tied atop the division, with the Steelers holding a 5-2 record.

The matchup marks the Steelers’ final game before their scheduled bye week. To help players recover from international travel, head coach Mike McCarthy shifted Wednesday’s practice to later in the day to give the squad extra time for rest.

McCarthy evaluated the team’s energy and recovery process as players returned to their training facility on Pittsburgh’s South Side. He noted positive progress in both strength conditioning and on-field work as the team resumed its normal routine.

“You know how we went into the trip, it was, I think, just as important how we came out of it, so yeah, I felt like the energy has been very good so far today,” McCarthy said. “This practice, you know, give the guys a chance to get their legs back. The weight room and strength conditioning component of it’s all been positive so far, so yeah, I think we’re off to a good start.”
