PITTSBURGH — Steelers offensive lineman Marcus Gilbert has been suspended for 4 games for the use of performance-enhancing substances.
According to a statement by General Manager Kevin Colbert, Gilbert will not appeal the NFL’s decision.
The suspension is effective immediately.
In a Twitter post, Gilbert apologized to his teammates, coaches and the Steelers' organization. He said he inadvertently took a banned substance.

We are disappointed that Marcus Gilbert has been suspended four games for using performance-enhancing substances. He will not appeal the NFL's decision.<br/> <br/> The suspension is effective immediately, and he will not be permitted in the building until after the suspension has concluded following our game on Dec. 17.
