Steelers player tests positive for COVID-19

PITTSBURGH — A Steelers player tested positive for COVID-19, according to the team’s spokesperson Burt Lauten.

Lauten sent Channel 11 the following statement:

“We have sent home our coaching staff, players and other staff members out of caution after we had one player test positive for COVID-19 that included several close contacts. We will continue to work with the NFL on contact tracing.”

The Steelers were eliminated from the playoffs Sunday after their loss to the Browns.
