Steelers QB Mason Rudolph placed on IR

PITTSBURGH — Pittsburgh Steelers quarterback Mason Rudolph has been placed on the reserve/injured list, ending his season, the team announced Tuesday morning.

Rudolph suffered a shoulder injury during Sunday’s game against the New York Jets, not long after he was put in during the second quarter when Devlin Hodges was pulled.

Center J.C. Hassenauer was activated from the practice squad to the 53-man roster. The Steelers said the move is an insurance policy since Maurkice Pouncey was also injured against the Jets.
