Steelers ready themselves ahead of Browns rematch

PITTSBURGH — The Pittsburgh Steelers are preparing for a rematch against the Cleveland Browns following a defeat in Cleveland four weeks ago.

Throughout the week, the team dedicated significant time to reviewing footage from that previous contest to prepare for the upcoming matchup.

During their meeting four weeks ago, the Browns established a 21-7 advantage over Pittsburgh. While the Steelers managed to equalize the score late in the contest, Cleveland executed a game-winning drive in the closing minutes.

Every victory secured by the Browns this season has concluded with a fourth-quarter game-winning drive.

Linebacker Alex Highsmith addressed the team’s strategy for handling Cleveland’s late-game offense during practice at the Steelers’ Southside headquarters.

“I think we have a really good plan for those 2 minute situations and also we just know we’ve got to start fast like I said we didn’t start fast at all the last game and you know they jumped up 21-7 you know at their place and so the momentum kind of swung their way and so for us we just got to get started fast defensively and keep them off the board,” Highsmith said.

Additional motivation emerged this week from outside the locker room. Defensive end Jared Verse of the Cleveland Browns publicly remarked that the team intended to “make Pittsburgh ours this week.”

Several players within the Steelers’ locker room chose not to react to the comment, indicating they intend to allow their performance on the field to speak for itself.
