Steelers rookie Germie Bernard opens up on why he’ll wear Guardian Cap all season

Pittsburgh Steelers rookie wide receiver Germie Bernard revealed during a recent appearance on Cam Heyward’s Not Just Football podcast that he’ll wear a Guardian Cap all season. The rookie out of Alabama has worn a Guardian Cap for the first two preseason games.

Bernard is the third Steelers player to don a Guardian Cap — following former Steelers Jabrill Peppers and James Daniels.

The Guardian Cap is a shell helmet cover engineered for impact reduction. It brings a padded, soft-shell layer to the outside of the decades-old hard-shell helmet and reduces impact up to 33%.
