Steelers WR Allen Robinson picks No. 11

PITTSBURGH — With Allen Robinson II officially a part of the Pittsburgh Steelers, the newly-acquired receiver picked his new jersey number on Friday. Robinson wore a variety of numbers throughout his collegiate and professional careers but chose a number that he has never worn for his tenure with the Steelers.

Robinson wore No. 8 during his collegiate career at Penn State. During his professional career, Robinson wore a different number in each of his first three teams. With the Jacksonville Jaguars, Robinson wore No. 15. With his time with the Chicago Bears, Robinson donned No. 12 and in his last destination before Pittsburgh, Robinson wore No. 1 with the Los Angeles Rams.

Robinson settled on the No. 11, which was previously worn by Chase Claypool. Not only will Robinson wear Claypool’s old number but the veteran receiver will fill the gap on the depth chart left by the Claypool trade.
