Penguins offer refund, credit to ticket buyers

The Penguins are offering season-ticket holders a refund for any 2019-20 home games that are not played -- or that are contested without fans present.

An email sent to those people Friday said they also have the option of applying the money paid for tickets to those games toward renewing their tickets for the 2020-21 season.

Although the email did not address this issue, it seems likely that even if the 2019-20 NHL season resumes this spring or summer, games will be played in empty arenas.

The email said the Penguins will be “completely flexible with payment options” for 2020-21 season tickets, “given the fact that we may be delayed in starting next season and the current challenges we are all facing.”
