PITTSBURGH — Pittsburgh Penguins forward Jared McCann was fined by the NHL $10,000 for elbowing.

That is the maximum penalty a player can be fined under the collective bargaining agreement.

The Penguins play the Washington Capitals Sunday on Channel 11. Our pregame coverage begins at 11:30 a.m.

McCann elbowed Flyers player Travis Sanheim and was awarded a two-minute minor penalty for the infraction.

The Penguins lost to the Flyers for the second straight game and now sit 0-2 on the season so far.
