BEIJING, China — Kaillie Humphries is the most decorated woman’s bobsledder in history and in these Olympics, she’s sledding for Team USA.

The native Canadian became an official U.S. citizen in December.

Humphries said the whole process was overwhelming, in a good way.

Humphries won three Olympic medals for Canada – two gold and a bronze.

There’s the human side of me just becoming a citizen of what it means and what that represents, she said. “Then, you know, understanding that I’m going to have the opportunity now to be able to go to the Olympics and represent the stars and stripes.”

She’ll compete in women’s bobsled and the first monobob race in these games.

Monobob is just like it sounds, just one person in the bobsled.

It’s a competition only for women in Beijing to increase women’s participation in the sport.
