HERSHEY, Pa. — Star quarterback Phil Jurkovec led Pine-Richland to a dominant 41-21 victory over St. Joseph's Prep in the PIAA Championship Game Saturday.

Jurkovec had five total touchdowns in the victory, including four rushing and one passing score.

It is the first state title in the history of Pine-Richland's football program.

Pine-Richland led St. Joseph's Prep, 14-7, at halftime of the 6A state title game in Hershey, Pa., but the Rams quickly took a hold of the game in the third quarter.

The snow-covered field in Hershey led to several fumbles by both squads, but Pine-Richland overcame the obstacles to capture the state title.
