PITTSBURGH — Watch for icy spots tonight and early Tuesday, especially on bridges and overpasses. A wintry mix of snow, freezing rain, sleet and rain will move through the area, eventually changing to all rain for Pittsburgh by Tuesday morning.
Areas north and east of Pittsburgh will see the greatest threat for icy conditions, as temperatures stay colder longer.

A Winter Storm Warning will be in effect for the ridges of Westmoreland and Fayette Counties from 2 p.m. Monday until 10 a.m. Tuesday. Up to 0.25 inches of ice will be possible with isolated higher totals. Up to one inch of snow will also be possible.
Even a small glaze of ice will be dangerous on untreated surfaces, so watch for quickly changing road conditions as you head out. The threat for ice could linger through mid morning Tuesday, before warmer air moves in and changes any mix to rain showers.
A Winter Weather Advisory will be in effect for counties north and east of Allegheny County from 6 p.m. Monday until 10 a.m. Tuesday. A few hundredths of an inch of ice will be possible, along with minor snow accumulation.
Starting at 7 p.m., vehicle restrictions will begin Tier 1 of the state’s weather event vehicle restriction plan on the following roadways:
- Interstate 70 in both directions from the Pennsylvania Turnpike (Interstate 76) to the Maryland state line;
- Pennsylvania Turnpike (Interstate 76) between the New Stanton and Breezewood interchanges;
- The entire length of Interstate 83 in both directions; and
- The entire length of Interstate 99 in both directions.
